1. Product Description
Skinvisible® has developed an Antimicrobial Hand Sanitizer Lotion utilizing Invisicare. It is an alcohol-free lotion with chlorhexidine 2.25% as the active ingredient. This patent-pending sanitizing hand lotion helps prevent cross-contamination of bacteria and viruses between people and from contact with hard surfaces.
2. Patent-Pending Formulas
Skinvisible has chosen chlorhexidine as its active ingredient for it's proven ability to kill both gram positive and gram negative bacteria and viruses as well as its strong affinity for binding to skin and mucous membranes. First synthesized in 1950, chlorhexidine is the active ingredient in most hospital antimicrobial hand soaps.
3. Exclusive Delivery System
What makes Skinvisible's Antimicrobial Hand Sanitizer different from other hand sanitizers is its patented delivery system Invisicare. In vivo studies confirm that Invisicare binds to the skin's outer layer - holding ingredients like chlorhexidine on the skin for four hours and more, even after frequent hand washing. Invisicare also forms a protective barrier that helps to keep the skin moist, which is beneficial to the healing process.
4. Studies on Bacteria and Viruses
Skinvisible has conducted numerous bacterial and viral studies at recognized and approved FDA and EU equivalent laboratories. In vitro studies showed a greater than 99% kill on bacteria such as: Enterrococus faecalis, Serratia marcescens, Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as well as Type A Influenza viruses that include H1N1 and H3N2; Influenza A subtype H5N1 virus, commonly known as "avian influenza" or "bird flu"; Influenza B virus; Hepatitis C virus. Ex vivo studies performed on H5N1 showed a greater than 99% kill lasting up to four hours.
5. License Available
Skinvisible is offering the right to license these patent-pending product formulations incorporating Invisicare for the OTC and prescription pharmaceutical market.
